General:
This position is responsible to drive, support and audit the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of IP (Intellectual Property) control procedure with Asia FG (Finished Goods) vendors, designated material/component suppliers and or tool makers for the enhancement of Spin Master and its customer(s)’ IP asset(s) protection.
Relationships:
- Reports to: Manager, Social Compliance
- Supervises: No
- Internal stakeholders: CoC team, Engineering PD team, Sourcing team, Customer Brand License team, Legal team.
- external stakeholders: Suppliers/Factories, Contractors, Licensees, Customers, IP Law enforcement, IP administrative agency, local Customs IP officers.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Carrying out IP audit at suppliers/contractor/ licensees/tooling manufacturers and tooling disposers (business partners) to identity the risk and vulnerability of IP Control system, follow up and drive CAP for all identified Non-conformances and drive business partners advancement in ability development for Spin Master IP protection.
- Implementing, developing, following as Spin Maser Intellectual Property Management (“IPM”) policy/procedure for protection of customers (licenser of brands) asset &IP and our product portfolio in Asia primarily at our business partners
- Working with business partners, engineering/PD team, QA Testing staff and 3rd party Inspection & Laboratory staff to conduct investigation on IP infringements activities.
- Where necessary upon request, assisting in in our legal team with respect to vendors IP legal actions.
- Conducting due diligence for business partner’s IPM system and identify its risk, weakness, and vulnerability among Spin Master Internal and our business partners and take remediation to improve IP procedure and audit protocol.
Required Qualifications, skills, experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, Business and Economics, Law degree is preferred.
- Sound knowledge and with 3 years’ hands-on experience in handling IP control. Previous work experience in Brand protection, Quality/compliance or investigations/ enforcement is preferred.
- Good knowledge on ISO56005 (intellectual property management system). GB29490 (IP compliance management system)
- Good knowledge on C-TPAT.
- With awareness of ISO/IEC 27001Information security management system.
- Good at English writing and speaking.
- Good word paperwork, excel data analysis tools and PPT presentation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to deal with different levels of people.
